WHY US

In many underserved communities, trust is the missing link between available services and actual uptake. IHED Initiative prioritizes trust-building by engaging respected religious and community leaders as credible advocates for child survival, immunization, and WASH practices. When trusted voices lead, communities listen.

Who We Are

The Islamic Health and Education Initiative (IHED Initiative) is a faith-driven, community-led organization dedicated to improving child survival and strengthening public health outcomes in underserved communities.

We address preventable child mortality, low immunization uptake, vaccine resistance, poor sanitation practices, and misinformation by mobilizing trusted religious and community leaders to promote culturally aligned, evidence-based health solutions.

Through integrated programming in immunization, WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene), community dialogue, and systems strengthening, IHED Initiative builds trust between communities and health systems  ensuring sustainable, locally owned impact.
